I’m just getting used to using Office 2021 for the first time and wondered if there is a way to save or back up the multitude of settings one spends literally hours getting just right! If so, I haven’t found it yet and so would welcome suggestions.

I think back lovingly to the ‘Save Office Settings’ tool that came with Office 2003 and its predecessors, and was occasionally a real life saver!

Have you looked in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office?
That is where I would expect them to be.

      cheers, Paul

Thanks. They all appear to be listed under  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0 which I previously associated with Office 2016.

(Sorry, realised I hadn’t logged in when I originally posted this)

Don’t forget the files which contain customizations. See How to back up *all* 365 Office settings, customizations, etc. – Microsoft Community for more details.

Thanks. Amazing that no one’s produced a little programme to do all this automatically?

There are several programs listed in the results of program to backup ALL office 365 settings – Search (bing.com). I’ve not used any of these so I can’t vouch for any.

Thanks, I’ll have a look. And I assume that the settings for Office 2021 are held in the same places as Office 365?

With Microsoft software assuming anything can be a recipe for disaster. Double check everything.
