“Third-party antivirus software will probably not work. That’s OK — because all anyone needs is Defender, provided with all Windows editions.”

I had no idea that you’re now dabbling in standup comedy Peter 😁

Not at all.  Windows Defender is more than enough for most people. If Defender has a fault, it’s too discreet and doesn’t appear on the screen.  That gives the false impression that it’s not working.

In my experience, third-party AV/security software doesn’t add enough additional protection to justify the ongoing costs.  Worse, the extra software causes trouble and conflicts.

No facsimile or scan. The Windows Fax and Scan app hasn’t been ported to Windows on ARM. If you need scanning software, try out VueScan, which I’ve used for many years and which has a native ARM 64-bit version.

What about the 1st party Windows Scan app from the Microsoft App Store? Will that work on ARM? FWIW, this app works great, but seems to have little mindshare.
