    I bought Windows 7, installed it and did not like it so I removed it from the computer and reloaded XP. Now I am not using it at all on any computer. Can I sell it legally
    ?

      Yes. From the Windows 7 Home Premium EULA:

      “18. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY
      a. Software Other Than Windows Anytime Upgrade
      . The first user of the software may make
      a one time transfer of the software and this agreement, by transferring the original media, the
      certificate of authenticity, the product key, and the proof of purchase directly to a third party. The
      first user must remove the software before transferring it separatelt from the computer. The first
      user may not retain any copies of the software.”

      Fill out the form at Microsoft Software License Terms for a complete version of the EULA.

      yes but if you had a prior OS and upgraded yoour old (vista) is key activation is dead

      The Original Poster said that he has gone back to XP. Is the activation key still ‘dead’? Or will he have to ring Microsoft for that?

      If it was a upgrade, per the license agreement yes, the old license is invalid.
