    Hi All,

Please forgive my naivete, but I don’t know a heck of a lot about Excel (but I’m learning all the time!).

Is there any way to reference cells from a worksheet in a header? I want my header to contain specific information that is contained on a separate sheet.

I tried title rows, but the problem is that my worksheet contains a whole lot of columns, and it won’t repeat the title on each page because there is no title above my other columns.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

    Cecilia 🙂

No, you can not directly reference a cell in a header or footer. You basically have two choices to do what you want to do:

1- Put an empty row or rows at the top of your worksheet and reference the cells in the cells of that row or rows. Then use the page setup/sheet tab to tell XL to repeat those rows at the top of every page.

2- Use an event routine like BeforePrint to move the data from the cells to the header or footer. See This Thread for and example of how to put a date from a cell into the header.

        Hi!

The issue with the sheet tab is this: My report contains five rows at the top that have a top header, and the first two columns on the left are the left hand header. Then I have about 30 columns going across the page.

When I print the sheet, I want each sheet to have the top header and the left header. But since the top header only occurs above the first few columns, it doesn’t repeat itself across the pages.

Thanks for the reference, part of the struggle here is that I’m not even sure what I should be looking for!

This looks cool! I’m going to play with it, but I think between your example and the reference above, I’ve got it!

        Thanks!
