I just upgraded from Outlook 2003 to 2010 and do not like the color options. I use monthly view and want to get rid of the background color on each appointment, as I had in OL 2003. The default color scheme for the whole calendar is OK, it’s just the appointment that I want to see in black type on white background.

Outlook 2010 does not let you change the background color to just white. You can change the default background color under File-> Options -> Calendar -> Default calendar color (15 colors to choose from), or on the fly using categories (25 to choose from), but none of them are white.
