• Calculated date field (Word 97)

With respect to field codes and dates I have seen entries for “for today’s date plus x days “. Does anyone have code for the equvalent of (todays date-created date) .i.e age of the document. I want to insert the formula in a doc so that the value is dynamic everytime the doc is opened. I would also be interested in www references to any documentation on how to create these “complex” field calculations. Thanx.

For references please have a look at the last reply to the subject http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthread…&vc=1#Post87118.

If you want the age of the document inserted each time you open the document you might consider to use a Document_Open Macro to insert the requested age of the document. This would probably be faster to implement and certainly at least as stable.

        Thanks for reply “hedgehog”,
I have previously looked at Chris’s site but will follow up again. However, I want to avoid using macros (which I current use) for two reasons.
        1) Avoid the “Do you want to start macro” message each time its opened.
        2) Ensure the info is “dynamic” or uptodate each time its opened.
