      I for one am quite grateful that you assumed the leadership of the newsletter. It’s sad to lose someone like Woody, but we all must exit the stage at some point. I hope and trust that he had a rewarding trip while he was with us (it sounded like he did.) For now, this newsletter continues to serve as a flotation device in the tech world, awash with “too much” and “too little” simultaneously. You and the other contributors are rocks stars to me!

      @sb  from today’s newsletter:

      I will be providing full guidance for the upgrade. For those looking to purchase a new Windows 11 PC and thus obtain a 24H2, I’m planning on a step-by-step guide to setting up a system without a Microsoft account and without the worry of BitLocker and Encryption.

      YES, please.  My new system arrives in 2 weeks or less and would very much appreciate your take on these three (3) topics.

      We purchased multiple new computers with Windows 11 Pro 24H2 and are staying there.

      But my recommendation, after fighting with new HP Z2 Tower G9 Workstation Desktops since December, is to put off any new computer purchases as long as possible.  Give 24H2 time to mature.

        Woody made a very good choice. I’m certain that your stewardship of this site has delighted him in the the years before his death.

      Update your devices as soon as Apple releases such updates. … On iPhones and iPads, my hope is that updates are automatic.

      Is your advice to patch Apple devices immediately rather than to wait for them to appear as ‘Install’ on the Master Patch List?

      Susan wrote, “Safari has been updated to 18.3.1”. It never occurred to me that Safari needed updating although I always update Edge and Chrome due to your previous comments in the past.

      So I went searching for how to update Safari. It appeared that on some iPhones there is a function to do that but on mine it appeared that Safari updates are included in the normal IOS update. Strange, though, that I could not find anything on the phone that shows the Safari version installed.

      Thanks for the information.

        ” Strange, though, that I could not find anything on the phone that shows the Safari version installed.”

        Your iOS version and Safari version are the same.

        Safari version is the same as your iOS version, if you’re at iOS 18.3.2, Safari will match up through an update with that iOS on your iPhone at 18.3.2. Apple does not show the version of Safari on the iPhone, but whenever there’s an update, that’s the Safari version you are using.
