The crystal ball is cloudy and with that, the answer may have presented itself..
For the Consumer Windows 10 ESU, expect the requirement of an OS ‘mcrosoft account’? let’s see.. you read it here first!
Remember there’s always 0Patch for consumers at a fraction of the cost.
Me, I prefer neither., W10 can go burn into a digital furnace
A reminder – note from this Lifecycle FAQ page about Windows 10 ESU in the “ESU Availability and End Dates” section:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/extended-security-updates
*** The editions that qualify for the Windows 10 ESU include Enterprise, Education, and Pro in Commercial use.
Win10 Home edition is not mentioned for ESU
Yes this is the business offering that would not include Home sku.
“And for the first time ever, we’re introducing an ESU program for personal use as well. The ESU program for consumers will be a one-year option available for $30. Program enrollment will be available closer to the end of support in 2025.”

I just installed Win10 32-bit a few days ago on an older laptop that won’t take a 64-bit OS. For the previous several years it had Win8.1 on it but the 32-bit version of that OS hasn’t received security updates for quite a while. Prior to that, Win7 for a couple years, and for at least a decade prior to that it had some flavor of MacOS because it’s a Macbook 2,1. Why do I still use it? Because it’s good enough for what I use it for – a small, essentially disposable laptop for checking e-mail and doing very basic work when I’m traveling.
I’m definitely not nobody, but am I somebody?
Or do you get something special?
You do : 3 years of ESU compared to 1 year.
$61 for the first year
$122 for the second year
$244 for the third year
