After installing this update I get the BSOD with STOP error 21a.
I managed to go back to a system restore point, probably made by the installer of the update.

Yes this BSOD can happen after an update. If you have any connected external devices unplug them to see if the computer will finish properly booting into Windows.
Article for fixing if you get this stop code again, another one with a bit more explanation.
Your post is in the v21H1 Forum.
V21H1 has not been released yet. (It is only an Insider version now)
Please type winver in the taskbar search box and hit Enter.
What version and Build number does it report? (Build nnnnn.xxx)
I use 21H1 build 19043.928.
On my Dell PC with 20H2, I have Malwarebytes and Windows Defender. For updating, In Malwarebytes, I can turn off web protection, malware protection, exploit protection, and ransom protection. Any suggestions on disabling? Is the computer then vulnerable during the update process? Thanks in advance.

I had different stop errors: 21a.
After executing “bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on” I had no more 21a Stop errors.
