An old problem has come back.

I am seeing some graphic items in some of my OE emails not displaying, but rather showing a large bordered empty box with a small square box containing a red X in the upper left corner of the larger box.

I am running WinXP/MCE/SP3/IE8 via Comcast.net. I recall having this problem years ago, and solved it then. I do not recall what the fix was. Help?

      Hans,

Thank you for your speedy reply. I read the link KB, and decided to heed the warning about trying to cure this problem; i.e., I may introduce an even bigger problem if I reset OE to display these items.

I have been living with the x for some time now, and it is just an annoyance. I do not recall it causing me a large problem since it first returned to my PC.

I will keep a note as to your link, though, just in case I dare give in and reset OE.

Often, when an email is forwarded, the image will not be sent for a variety of reasons. Usually it is because the image is not present on the senders computer, internet based email for instance. The sender will get a message to the effect that, some of the images in this email will not be sent, do you still want to send the message?.
