I have create multiple booklets on 5.5 x 8.5 landscape pages in the past without to much problem. I created another documents using a previous booklet as a template. When I went to print the new booklet it doesn’t print correctly. The document is 76 pages long. When printing Word automatically creates at least 3 extra pages and the pages are not reorganized as expected. Regarding the page numbering for example page 15 and 16 are printed on the same side of on sheet of paper, instead of something like 15 and 36. I and 2 other people checked the new document against an older correctly working document all settings are exactly the same in the page setup dialog box: booklet fold and the same in the printer dialog box.

I did see where someone said to check if Options | Printing to see if reverse printing was on, it isn’t.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you from a very frustrated Fay

Do you have odd page or even page section breaks in the problem document? They can cause Word to insert extra pages.

I just checked the document. There are only page or continuous section breaks inserted. Good thought, but… Any other ideas? Thanks for this one. Fay

I think we’d have to see (a sanitized copy of) the document…

Here it is. I fiddled with it more this am. The only thing achieved is one less tree and one more headache. Everything prints as it should until you go to section three or the Introduction. (I.E. page i on right and page 68 on left on flip side page ii and 67 are together. Once it gets to the Introduction or page 1 instead of it print on the right side of the page I get a forced Windows blank page and page one is on the flip side paired with page 2 etc. As you can see by the title of the file my patience is shot and definitely my problem solving ability is shot. Thanks for any feedback. Fay

I note that you restart numbering at 1 in section 3. This is often a source of confusion – Word always forces odd pages to the right side. You could let page numbering continue, and use a formula field to subtract the appropriate number of pages from the physical page number.
See if the attached document is better.

Thanks Hans. It didn’t work the initially. I closed and walked away to come back and it worked. Magic! Fay
