Hi Everyone,
My Dell Inspiron 24-5459 AIO has 8GB ram and an I5 processor.
Here is my problem, I hope anyone can help. In Jan of this year my Dell wouldn’t boot. I still had warranty service, had to send my computer back to Dell, they said they had to replace hard drive and it was returned working with a new HD with Win 10X64 and booting fine.
Now here is the problem, the system is booted UEFI but when I go to the BIOS only legacy BIOS is displayed, no UEFI, it was there before Dell touched my computer I know because I used it. I just realized this but unfortunately my computer is out of warranty now.
Is there something simple I can do to get the UEFI BIOS option back into BIOS easily, I can’t figure it out or don’t fully understand it. I try to boot a restore disk I have created under Win10 (actually win 7 back-up and restore CD created under Win 10 using Back-up and restore) but it won’t boot. I want to boot that CD to restore to a back-up I created earlier (2 weeks ago) but I can’t VIA legacy boot, system won’t let me.
Does anyone understand my problem and how to fix it since Dell screwed my system up?
Thanks for any help, I’m lost, hopefully it’s simple…
