Just a ‘heads up’ to let you know that KB3114409 causes problems with outlook 2010. It opens maximised, loses reading pane and sound (if installed) Uninstalling solves the issue.

I had the same problem appear last night after Patch Tuesday. I uninstalled the patch and all is back to normal. MS says the patch is no longer available.

I have a Win 8.1 user that had the same thing happen starting 12/8, however she does not have KB3114409.

Researched on line at length. Tried several suggested fixes:

      Ran Outlook /cleanviews

Updated 2 registry entry permissions to allow everyone:

      HKLMsoftwareMicrosoftoffice 14

      KKCU ditto

Launched Outlook.exe with “Run As Administrator”

Verified that OL is not running in Compatibility mode

      Ran Repair Outlook

      Checked for KB3114409-absent

I don’t like to create new user profiles, but I guess that’s next.

Any other suggestions to try tomorrow?

This thread was a wonderful help, as I was going nutz trying to figure out what messed up my Office 2010 Outlook… uninstalling this “patch” fixed everything…

Keep up the wonderfully helpful posts!
