My HP ENVY Phoenix 810-400 Desktop came with Win7, and I upgraded to Win10 Pro 1809. I find that the equalizer in the Beats Audio app does not do anything, when using analog sound output. I tried newer and older HP drivers, in Win7 comparability mode or not. No combination seems to have done any good. I found one post regarding a Beats fix for an HP laptop, but I can’t tell if that is something to try with this PC. Thanks in advance for any clues.

AskWoody_MVPFebruary 25, 2019 at 10:16 am #331293The HP 810-400 desktop PC uses Realtek HD audio drivers and this is the v6.0.1.7525 rev A driver listed for that model for Win10.
more confusing is that the “beats fix” whereever you found it [provide a link to it if possible Hugh] applies for HP laptops only and not for HP desktops since some HP laptops use IDT audio and few others use Realtek audio AND require the HP quick launch button software, depending on the model.
when installing or removing/uninstalling Realtek audio drivers, it is important to reboot afterwards to complete the process.

InactiveFebruary 27, 2019 at 9:03 am #334034Thanks for the quick feedback, EP. I see this driver in my downloads list leading me to believe that I tried it before. Nevertheless, I installed it (as administrator) and rebooted twice per instructions. Everything seems to be fine, I have analog speaker output, except that the Beats Audio app is completely missing (not in Programs and Features, Start, or any search) and there does not appear to be an equalizer anywhere. That is new and different.
The aforementioned Beats Fix was in post #139618.
