As some of you may have seen some of us have been trying to link images into our signature boxes so that they can be automatically viewed when leaving posts as part of our signatures! The discussion has become a bit lengthy and possibly irrelevant to others……….. so thought to start the topic off in it’s own forum! How say you ?? Not sure if this is the right spot for it and if not would be grateful for some input!

With BBCode it seems that there is a slight difference to HTML ……. although one can use html ‘inside’ the BBcode…. there are a few references and examples of this online which is helpful.
But with all of this it can be the smallest discrepancy like a ‘.’ or difference in spelling that
    makes the exercise stumble.

I’m sure we would all love to hear from those who’ve had experience with this and how they got around things that didn’t work straight off! LT

Just to add to the above.
Firstly the code I used was :
      [ img ] example.com / yourgraphic.jpegORgif [ /img ]
      without the spaces.

I have finally found out the reason why I haven’t been able to see my signature on my computer, but could on my husband’s, and also was told by Kirsty that she was seeing it finally.

Basically it seems that WordPress needs to have an https site to stream the media. So I used dropbox and gave it a few minutes to come into play………. that’s when Kirsty was able to finally see it.
Previously I had not given the time, but rather looked, couldn’t see and undid.

The browser and the addons/plugins you might have installed may also play a part…
I still couldn’t see my signature (graphic) on my browser/computer.
I could see it on my husband’s though.
So empty the cache, reboot – still negative.
      Open IE and could see.
      Back to IRON/Chrome – negative
Have a look at the addons/plugins – Success
      Privacy Badger was blocking Dropbox
      Uncheck
      Et voila – Success!!!

Think we all know – the moral of all this……
If at first you don’t succeed……. try, try, again!! LT

I found this helpful link relating to using Dropbox as the online https img source. The Dropbox link created automatically ends in “?dl=0”, which needs to be changed to “?raw=1” to make it work.

And I’d like to say a very special thanks to @LizzyTish, for my new signature “logo” 🙂

Here’s the script that I put in my signature box  (ignore the first double-quote and the last double-quote) and you see how my signature turns out.   What is wrong with the coding?

“style” & “px” not supported. Try size=10 inside your square brackets instead.

          Hope it works.

After using BBCodes to configure the signature, using the “[style size=”10px”] {text} [/style] code and hearing back from Kirsty, advising me to use “[ size=10] [/size ]” instead, it is working.  Here is the code for the first line in the signature, if someone is interested in what it looks like.

      [size size=11][color color=red] Win7 Pro x64 [/color][/size]

This should help for size and colors if you wish,
you can get an idea of the final size via my sig.
