How to change the date of the pictures taken by the digital camera in batch?

I set the date of the camera wrong. It supposed to be June. I set it August. I need to change the month of pictures from August to June. Is there a recommended shareware that can do this job? The time taken is correct. Only the month needs to be fixed.

You might have some luck with Exifer for Windows (postcardware)
Also EXIFutils – Command Line EXIF manipulation tools for JPG and TIF images, but I don’t know how crippled the evaluation version is.

IrfanView can do things in batches, might be worth looking to see if it will do what you want

A freebie that I have used for years is a utility written by Berger Laurent. I just tried going to the last known web site and the link appears to be dead. I have attached a snapshot to this message which shows some info that you might use in Google.

The archived file name is shdate.zip and the latest version is 1.41. It adds a tab to the File Properties feature allowing the changing of day, month, year and time as individual components. By flagging in Windows Explorer, a block of files and right clicking, the Properties feature will allow what you are trying to do.

The Date/Time Extension utility works in all versions of Windows up to and including Windows XP.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers, Bob

If you are talking about the system file date, JoePerez has previously recommended Attribute Changer

I think Dennis is referring to the EXIF header information embedded in the JPEG itself.
See, for instance, Reading EXIF Image Data for the nitty gritty.

The file shdate.zip is available from http://pcexpress.theolddub.com/pub/help/fileman.htm%5B/url%5D
I downloaded and installed on XP-PRO SP2 works well

            Hi Edward,

What version of the Date/Time utility did you find? I looked at the download site you found and it appears that it might be version 1.40. But, not 100% sure without installing it. The version I picked up in 2000 is 1.41.

There appear to be at least two sites where the 1.41 version is available. I compared their files to mine and the contents/size are the same as mine from 2000.

The sites with the 1.41 version are here or here.

I have no way of knowing what differences there are between 1.40 and 1.41.

            Cheers, Bob

You are correct, I have downloaded from one of your sites and installed over the top of the previous install.

              Thank you

Off-topic: your new user picture is distorted. All user pictures are resized to 65 wide x 75 high. Your picture is 75 wide x 56 high. I have attached a cropped version with the correct proportions, but ideally you should create a new one from the original picture sized 65 wide x 75 high or a multiple thereof such as 130 x 150.

Thanks Hans, I have cropped the picture again and reposted. I had a little problem but finally achieved the result.

Hi Hans, I simply do not know where to make this post. I am not receiving my e-mails: I see that is yet to be corrected.
This message is regarding the picture (my picture) we had so much trouble with is now not displaying. I have posted the same picture again however all I get is the rectangle with the red cross.

There is a problem with uploading new userpics. You can send an e-mail with the picture attached to LoungeAdmin@wopr.com. Claude will then take care of it for you. However, he is away from home at the moment, so you’ll have to wait until next week.

I guess I will wait until the new systems settles down further. The picture is exactly the same as previous but is not appearing.
              Thanks Hans
