hello one and all!
here is what i hope is my last outlook .pst file problem, for at least a very long time. i have finally managed to get all of my .pst files all in the same place so that i can open them and read them. fine. the problem is this: i want to back them all up, as i am having some problems with the beast, and need to do yet another hard drive reformat and reinstall of all the programs that we use, and all the data that we need. long story as to why; maybe i’ll post it here another time, and ask if anyone recognizes the problem and what causes it. anyway… i can never seem to remember the path to the .pst file folder, so i usually do a search for a an e-mail that i know contains a particular phrase. from there, i find the pathway to the folder, then i just use windows explorer to make sure that’s it, then i simply copy it as i would any other folder, making sure that i name it something other than outlook. once i do that, then i can backup all my files, using nero. i then import it as a personal file and all is well (usually. see my last post for the exception to the usual.) this time, i cannot seem to find the pathway to the folder using my regular trick. no matter what i put in the criterion field for the search, it always comes back with nothing found. so, my question is this: can anyone out there please tell me the usual path to the .pst files/folder? i use windows 2000 professional, and outlook is part of office 2000 professional. if there is anything else that you need to know in order to help me, please drop me a line or post here and i will do my darnedest to help you, as you so kindly are helping me. i look forward to hearing from all y’all soon. until then, take care and God bless.
