    Hi There,
In order to back up email folders containing messages the help menu says to highlight the folder and click file, then click folder and then compact and it will save it is a .dbx file. After doing this I did a search for *.dbx and found nothing and I did not get an option to save this backup in a folder that I specified. Where can I find this file and how can I save it to disk?

You did NOT state what OS you are running, but the newer ones will hide these files.
You need to go to Windows Explorer, Tools Options, View tab and “Show Hidden files and folders” and display (remove check) the “Hide Protected Operating System files”

Wouldn’t the OS be the “xp” in brackets after the title? I don’t think there is an “OE XP” so it couldn’t be that being referred to …? grin

There is a little utility named OEBackup that will allow OE backups individually, by identies and location and other features.

Check the full specs and a download link at OEBackup
