AVG 9 problems

I installed AVG9 this morning and web sites are really slow.

I am running Mozilla 5.1, XP 3 with all fixes applied, and zone alarm pro 9.

On an earlier version of AVG, I had to disable the link scanner and the anti spam features to get my system running at a respectable speed.

Has anyone else encountered a system slow down after installing AVG 9?

Since Posting this thread, I have run into additional problems, which I almost certain were caused by AVG9. Latest was inability to get a new version of CCleaner.

Initially I had Link Scanner and Anti Spam turned off.

I have now also disabled
Firewall
ID Protection and
Resident Shield.

Resident Shield prevented the update of CCleaner.

I am pretty much back to the nightly scan, which is what I had running before.

Does ZoneAlarm Pro include antivirus and anti-spyware? I think you need one of your products to provide real-time protection. A nightly scan would be too late…

Do really mean you are using Mozilla Suite 1.5?

If so, that’s a very old browser, it’s not even the most recent version of that application. Mozilla Suite reached v1.7 before development stopped.

Perhaps an up to date browser might help? The current equivalent of the Mozilla suite is Sea Monkey 2.0. Alternatively, try Mozilla’s separate browser & email applications:
Firefox and Thunderbird

Or is Mozilla 5.1 just something I’ve never come across before?
