I have a fellow co-worker who has set up a rule that routes all “read” receipts to a folder called “receipts”. However, all receipts are received as “unread” (in bold) and an envelope appears in the systray. The coworker wants to set up a rule that would force all receipts to be set as read in order to prevent the envelope in the systray from appearing.

Do you have any suggestions? TIA.

there is a custom action for rules called mark read, look for it at http://www.slipstick.com. but it only will mark them read, not affect the envelope.

also – if most of the reciepts come from other outlook users, why doesn’t he let outlook autopprocess them?

Hmmm. How do you auto-process receipts? That might be the answer we need.

You can set up a rule in your inbox that upon receiving a messages with the word Read: in the subject line, move it to a receipts folder. The problem with that is if you receive any message with the word Read:, it will also move it. Have you heard of any way to process receipts only? Hope this helped.

You can create a rule that applies to mails using a particular form and choose the form Report from Application Forms.
