This “feature” has been a cause of much frustration at my firm. We wish to PERMANENTLY turn this feature OFF.

We are an international firm, so we have the Multilanguage pack installed. We have gone through the normal template and set the default language to English and unchecked the Autodetect Language feature and the Do not check spelling feature. The Regional settings and Keyboard settings have been set.

Still every couple weeks, I get a call on this. Any ideas?

I’m not sure, but I noticed that you haven’t gotten an answer yet so I’ll try. Go to the Microsoft Office Folder (you might have an entry on Start/Programs/Microsoft Office) & look for Office Language Settings. Uncheck all but English & see if this helps.

The Office 2000 Resource Kit provides an administrative policy template (Word9.adm) which can be used to disable this option (and others) …permanently.
