• Automatic formatting (Outlook XP)

For some reason, Yahoo mail likes to strip the URL’s from my Email messages that I send to my brother. I’d like to configure my Outlook to stop automatically formatting the url I type in or paste into a “hot link” which gets stripped by Yahoo.

Can someone help me find where I can turn off automatic formatting so I don’t have to delete “www.” part in order to force the URL into a regular text instead of a link?

    Thanks.

      Quit Outlook.
      Start Word.
      Select Tools | AutoCorrect Options…
Activate the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
Clear the “Network and Internet paths by hyperlinks check” box.
      Click OK.
      Start Outlook again.

If this is in HTML format, you can remove the link (not sure how to prevent it) using Insert>Remove Hyperlink, with your insertion point in the link. Hassle…

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
