Autohide stops when desktop sharing starts

Autohide stops working when I start a desktop sharing session, sometimes using IM, sometimes using other software, such as Bomgar. If I reboot, it works again, but that is a pain to shut everything down and reboot. I tried unchecking, Apply, and rechecking the Autohide check box and clicked on every window in my taskbar with no results. Also checked for notifications, but there were none. Any other ideas? Thanks!!
