• AutoCorrect and R (XP)

We are finally rolling out Office XP and Windows XP. I’m trying to determine if a particular AutoCorrect entry came with Office XP or someone inadvertently set it on our corporate image. scratch The entry in question is the letter r . Any time you type a solitary r (followed by a space or Enter), it changes to the word always (r = always). (Yep, it’s always always! evilgrin ) I’m wondering if anyone knows whether or not this entry (r for always) is commonly used? Any ideas? I’d hate to remove the entry on the corporate image if it’s a useful substitution.

I didn’t see anything in our medical dictionaries that might have added this entry. Obviously, it’s easy enough to delete the AutoCorrect entry (we only have several hundred PCs imaged thus far – what’s one little fix?!)

    Thanks for your information.

I do NOT get any AutoCorrect action when I type in “r(sp)” , except when it is the first character in the sentence, then it changes to upper case.

Dave, Thanks for the quick response! I had a feeling the r = always was NOT a set from Microsoft.
