• Autoarchiving shared mailbox (2003)

    Good morning,

I want to autoarchive a shared mailbox without archiving my own. Is there a known way to do this? Basically, if I have access to a shared mailbox, even if I change that mailbox’s settings to archive on a separate schedule than my own, when the archive prompt occurs, it archives my personal mailbox as well. Hopefully this makes sense.

If you want a seperate schedule for your mailbox, I don’t think that is possible. Each folders in a mailbox that is subject to archiving can have its own autoarchive setting – right click, select Properties | Autoarchive. You’d have to turn off autoarchiving on any you did not want checked.

That’s what I thought. I wanted to keep my mailbox at every 2 weeks, but have the shared mailbox archive every other day.

You can have separate settings for by folder for determing when autoarchiving will archive messages in that folder. You just can’t have Autoarchiving run on a different schedule.

Right, so it would basically happen for both folders daily; but only after the appropriate time schedule has passed will the items be archived.
