Is there a way to set up an auto reply to email senders for when you are away from the office in Outlook? My boss would like to have a notification sent out that he is out of the office and will return on a certain date so customers do not think he is ignoring them.

If you are on Exchange you can use Tools | Out-of-Office Asistant. If not, you can create and use a Reply to All Rule.

We are not on an exchange server. I have not created a rule before, how do I go about this?

You need to create a Reply Template, after which the Rules Wizard makes the rest fairly easy. Read this entire thread, bearing in mind that your Outlook 2000 menus will be a little different, for one thing, all Rules in Outlook 2000 are in effect created from a “blank rule”.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
