I am only a beginner at this, so please be kind!
I have made a database, the purpose of which is to track our society’s members and, specifically, to record their passwords for access to our web pages.

I have a field for expiry date of their membership, and I would like Access to automatically remind me when a membership has expired, so that I can withdraw their password, preferably without having to start access up. Is this possible?

    Phil.

Access is not a server database system, so if Access is not running (or if it is, but the database is not open), it can’t notify you. You can have the database check for expired memberships when it is opened. There are several ways to do this; perhaps the following is the simplest:

      • Create a query that selects members whose membership has expired.
      • Create a form based on the query (you can use one of the Form Wizards to design it if you like).
      • Set this form to be the startup form in Tools | Startup…
[/list]Post back if you need more help.
