Ok, so here’s the situation….Last nite I just closed my database and flipped my laptop monitor down (it doesn’t shut down when I do that, just goes into standby..). This morning when I opened my laptop, there’s a file called Database_Backup (I didn’t create it…my database is just called ‘Database’)…can anyone let me know what’s goin on? Has this happened to anyone else?

Unless you installed some add-ins from third parties or such, it’s probably from a Windows backup application. And it’s a good thing. Access databases do go corrupt from time to time – especially if your OS crashes, or you have a LAN hit.

No 3rd party stuff….but it’s weird…1st time for that to happen…we have our database go corrupt at work at least once a week, that’s why I’m designing this one…a front-end/back-end setup…as opposed to our current shared setup.

I have found this happens when Access bombs out with a dialog box asking if you want to send Microsoft the details, it will save a copy as databasename_backup.mdb.

Actually, That’s probably exactly what happened, I just didn’t notice…
