Authy for Desktop End of Life (EOL)
The Authy Desktop apps for Windows and MacOS that are available or were previously downloaded from authy.com/download as well as those for Linux will reach their End-of-Life in August 2024.

We made this difficult decision to sunset the Twilio Authy desktop apps in order to streamline our focus and provide more value on existing product solutions for which we see increasing demand..

    For Authy End Users

We strongly recommend that you immediately switch to using our mobile apps instead.

These top-rated apps offer similar or better features for securely storing your authenticator account tokens, and are fully supported and regularly updated. Simply download one or more of these apps from the relevant app stores..

If you have the Backups feature enabled – your tokens will automatically sync up between the devices…

    Authy Desktop Alternatives

If you are unable to use the Authy mobile apps, we recommend you look in to alternative desktop products such as the following suggestions:

    https://steptwo.app/
    https://secrets.app/

That’s really a bummer. I don’t have smartphone and use Authy desktop for my 2FA. Thanks for letting me know. I guess I have to search for another desktop app that also synchronizes between devices. I also use RoboForm for 2FA, but only for social media accounts, because I do not want to save keys of important accounts in my password manager. That would mean that only one program needs to be breached instead of two to get me into trouble.

Although I also currently use Roboform for all of my 2FA needs, I love having Authy as a backup. (Plus, I do have the codes stored in printed form.) I must admit I rarely ever access the desktop version, but I like the format a lot. Although, Authy does not populate the 2FA field like Roboform does, so it is pretty useless to me. I just like having the security of a backup format. I guess I will live with the Android versions on my cell & my tablets.

Just migrated my Authy bits to KeePass with the help of the TwoFactoQRCodeReader plug-in.

      cheers, Paul

Thank goodness I stuck with winauth.exe for a Windows Authenticator instead of trying Authy.
