    I use Thunderbird for E-mail.

Every time new mail comes in, it notifies me by playing a sound file, a recording of a pleasant female voice that states: “You have mail!”. But because it’s always the same, it’s getting to be monotonous. I want some variety.

Doe anybody know a Thunderbird Add-On that automatically switches sound files (in sequence or randomly)?

I’m also thinking of recording some more audio files along these lines:

      [*]“You got female!”

      [*]“Sorry, only spam today!”

      [*]“HOWARD!!! THE POSTMAN RANG!”

[*]“♫ ♫ No mail today, my love has gone away … ♫ ♫”

      [*]“Your mailbox got pregnant!”

[*]“♫ ♫ Please Mr Postman look and see, if there’s a letter in your bag for me … ♫ ♫”

[*]“Careful, it’s slippery icy outside [THUD]!”

      [*]“♫ ♫ Ma! She’s making eyes at me … ♫ ♫”

[*]“AAOOW! Immediately followed by the sound of running feet and a large angry dog barking loudly, both fading in the distance.

      [*]“♫ ♫ I got plenty of nothing … ♫ ♫”

    Suggestions for any more please?

We’re not ignoring your post; I never heard of an addon that would do something like that. At my age, I’d probably forget which sounds were for email, and which one meant my house was on fire. 😉

I would think if you can find where thunderbird stores the sound file you could manually change it to something else regularly to break up the monotony. I also know of no way to automatically do this, sorry.
