You can either edit the registry or use a third-party add-in. For details see Slipstick

FanTAStic! Thanks. this is just what I was looking for. I knew I had read about a fix on one of Woody’s Newsletters, but I didn’t remember where and I couldn’t find it. I downloaded the Slovak fix and it worked wonderfully! I appreciate your response to my request.

Just out of curiosity, what are the file extensions on the attachments you are you receiving that are on the radioactive list? Seems most of those extensions are things people should not be sending you.

Yes, most of the things ARE indeed stuff I wouldn’t want, but the thing that really cranked me was this: I sent two files from my work to my home. We got hit with the Elkern Virus at work and used a program called Stinger.EXE to remove the virus. Since I often Citrix in I was concerned my home computer may have become infected. Outlook had been configured to stop all .exe files and all .zip files.

For those attachments where hitting the forward button workaround doesn’t work, here is a free app simply named Outlook Attachments. It has a very user friendly GUI and allows you to highlight and allow the file type of your choice, reopen Outlook and the file will now be available!

        • #648420

When Outlook prevents you from accessing certain file attachments with executable extensions, sometimes you can select ‘forward’ and then the attachment can be available.
