Whenever one of my colleagues sends me a message with an attached contact card, all I get as the attachment is a blank message page, not the VCF. It seems she has her “compose” option set for HTML. Is this what causes the problem? See attached screenshot.

AskWoody LoungerFebruary 11, 2004 at 8:21 pm #782853Outlook can send contact records either in some proprietary format that doesn’t always travel well, or as a VCF attachment. I think the latter is more standard, but is trickier to do. Rather than use Insert>Item, one can:
- Select or open the contact and choose, from the Action menu, Forward as vCard; then drag the VCF attachment to the target message (or use the message Outlook has created automatically);
- Select or open the contact and choose, from the File menu, Save As, specifying vCard format (or, with a contact open, File>Export to vCard file); then use Insert>File to add the VCF attachment to the target message;
If there are easier ways, I know them not.
