In Word 2003, hitting the Ctrl + F2 keys together opens a page preview of the current doc that is on screen, how do I eg. allocate the same key combination in OpenOffice please. I have clicked my way to the “Customize” dialogue box but can’t bring the “Keys” box into focus so as to enter the desired key combination. Thanks Dave.

This seemed to me to work when I tried it. Scroll down in the list in the top half of your screen shot and eventually you get to Ctrl+F2. Select that. Then in the bottom half select View and Page Preview as you have shown. Then click Modify and then OK.
Does that work for you?

Sure did Ian…. thanks a lot…I’d tried numerous permutations and read answers on Google but none seemed to work for me BUT your simple instructions saved my bacon [so to speak]. Having to resort reluctantly to OpenOffice as WORD docs take forever to open, pity really as I’ve got so used to it and the many shortcuts that both come with it and are so easy to create like [Ctrl + * ] to show none-printing characters & Ctrl + [ or ] to increase / decrease highlighted text. Thanks a bunch Dave.

PS…..I note that Ctrl + [ & ] are not listed in the Shortcut Keys box does that mean they can’t be used? Dave.
