I’m trying to create a new ASP.NET Web Application in VS. The IDE responds that I must start the web server before it can open the project, which I am supposedly able to do by entering ‘net start w3svc’ at a command prompt. That command doesnt work ~ it raises an error 1721, out of resources. My research so far indicates that this has something to do with RPC/Internet/Ports, but that is where i am stuck. I am assuming this is an installation/registry problem, and inserted what i thought were apropos keys and values in the registry to no avail. Anyone got a clue?

My McAfee personal firewall subscription expired. Rather than “Verify that you want to spend $35 to continue using PF”, I uninstalled everything McAfee.
