This is a tremendous resource. Thanks, Tracey!

Thanks for the 2019 Table of Contents.  I was about to create one myself, but you saved me the effort.

Will Plus Newsletters eventually be open for all guests on a ninety day or four month delay basis? Or will they continue to be a Plus Member only resource? Belated thanks for opening all 2019 newletters.

There was only ever a 3-month Plus membership-only access to Newsletters. It’s is open for all after that.

AskWoody Plus members might wonder what’s in it for them. First, only Plus (paid) readers will receive emailed issues. And second, as currently planned, Plus members will have exclusive access to issues for two months after publication.

        This has been advised explicitly.

You found the quote that I did not search back far enough to find. Thank you for the source information, confirmation. The question is asked because at this time it is not a reality. All 2020 Plus Newsletters remain sealed starting with 6-JAN-2020 at this link from the grey bar above:

Please clarify if Woody’s original two month, as quoted, or your three month estimate is intended going forward. Thanks for your attention.

It’s possible that is an unintended consequence of a recent “improvement”. We’re looking into it.

Turning the newsletters “free” is a manual process. I just released all of the Plus Newsletters up through February.

I’m curious, though. Back in Windows Secrets days, seeing the newsletters required a $39 or $59 annual subscription. Now, though, all you have to do is sign up for a Plus Membership and pay whatever fee you feel is appropriate, and all of the newsletters are immediately available. Serious question: What’s kept you from signing up?

Thank you both for addressing this question. You have released a backlog of eight full issues. Thank you.

It was not a question of membership. It was holding to announced plans or announcing new replacement plans. Either would be appropriate. I am pleased you decided to keep with the original statement. Now when I tell a friend to read How to Manage Your Router, they can access the content and may decide to join.

I needed to ask about the policy, because I did not know if it had changed. I was not comfortable to assert when I could not find the source. I may have also missed an announced change.

I attempted to reply to your serious question, and deleted it. Instead, I ask why you are inquiring of an anonymous guest why they choose to remain so? How about, it is a matter of taste. I like salt on my eggs. Are you considering removing the salt from your table? It would be perfectly reasonable for you to do, and you do not need my approval to do it.

It was a simple oversight during an unusually stressful March. But did not need to continue as May approached. Glad it was a simple thing to fix.

              Fair enough.

It wasn’t a policy change. It was me not noticing how far in arrears we had fallen. You can ping me any time.

Staying anonymous is great. But you can stay anonymous and become a Plus Member, too – thus contributing to the care and feeding of this site.
