We had four lawyers, three privacy experts, and two campaigners look at Microsoft’s new Service Agreement, which will go into effect on 30 September, and none of our experts could tell if Microsoft plans on using your personal data – including audio, video, chat, and attachments from 130 products, including Office, Skype, Teams, and Xbox – to train its AI models.

If nine experts in privacy can’t understand what Microsoft does with your data, what chance does the average person have? That’s why we’re asking Microsoft to say if they’re going to use our personal data to train its AI….

D’oh! No need for lawyers, privacy experts, etc. Of course Microsoft is going to use your personal data for whatever purpose they want. They are an unscrupulous company!

Is it time to start using Linux instead of Windows?!

Every operating system has it’s eula concerns.  We keep saying that this year is the year of Linux on the workstation but percentage use doesn’t tick up.

Also Mozilla is using this as advertising, so question the source.

Hi Sharon, I reluctantly moved both rock solid, stable performers in Win8.1 Pro and Win7 Pro to W10, and now only use W10 for non-sensitive tasks and the things I can’t quite do with Linux whilst offline. However, the linux distro developers are getting there, albeit just not quick enough for me to ditch Windows entirely.

If you are tech savvy, a Windows 10/11 Guest within a Linux Host VM (Virtual Machine) is a viable option where you can isolate Windows completely from the internet when not using/ needing it. Providing the best of both worlds with benefits.
