Google keeps adding reasons for me not to use Google for anything, and to use ad blockers for everything.
The silence from Apple and Microsoft about this is deafening.
By the way, “Don’t be Evil” was a saying one of the founders of Google attributed to a relative, and he says it’s an old Russian saying.
Well, we see every day what this saying means in today’s world, don’t we? (Sorry for the political content.)

No, its not.
Apple doesn’t care as Safari and any other browser running on Apple’s devices use Apple’s webkit.
Microsoft’s Edge is Chromium so it dances to Google’s flute.
I have done nearly everything I can to block Google on my computers for a number of years. Clearly, I have to keep an eye on their unfriendly or abusive behaviors and lock things down even more. The sad truth is that they have so infiltrated nearly every corner of the internet that I have to allow some things “google” to even get many of my necessary online accounts to load (e.g. CAPTCHA, anyone?), then disallow them again. My browsers are set to delete all cookies and site data on close. I run PrivaZer regularly as well. Feels like a war of attrition but I’ll stand on my principles. Sigh..
