Hi guys, hoping someone can help me with a task I’ve been given. My boss is getting a new PC & needs to back up his Outlook data. However, he has several archive folders in his folder list & wants to put them all into a single archive folder to back up. I know very little about how Outlook archives stuff & how .pst files work, so any pointers or assitance would be wonderful!

    Thanks in advance.

You can move items (mails, contacts, appointments) or entire folders by dragging and dropping them while in Folder List mode. If you hold down Shift, you’ll copy instead of move.

Another possibility is File | Import and Export… > Import from another program or file > Personal Folder File (*.pst) > specify the .pst file to import from > specify the source folder and the target folder.
You can find out where each archive is stored by right-clicking it in the Folder List and selecting Properties for …, then clicking Advanced… (see post 592,620).
