    Note this is only Microsoft based vpn connections impacted, not consumer based vpns.

    VPN connections might fail after installing the April 2024 security update

    Windows devices might face VPN connection failures after installing the April 2024 security update (the Originating KBs listed above) or the April 2024 non-security preview update.

    NTLM traffic issue after installing the April 2024 security update

    After installing the April 2024 security update (the Originating KBs listed above) on domain controllers (DCs), you might notice a significant increase in NTLM authentication traffic. This issue is likely to affect organizations that have a very small percentage of primary domain controllers in their environment and high NTLM traffic.
    Next steps: We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

      Could you explain what “Microsoft based VPN connections” means in practice please?

      All the Message ID links are only available to work or school accounts.

      Meaning l2tp/ipsec vpns that businesses use.  I have not seen reports of consumer vpns having issues.  The link doesn’t have any more than what I posted above.

      The patch list dated April 23 shows to install, but it seems issues have arisen after that post. Since I know nothing about vpn’s, are you saying it is ok to install since I use my computer for home use?
