Hi all……. the attached message has just started to appear on screen when I boot up, what causes it, what fault is it referring to and how can it be stopped from appearing? Dave…
ps I have clicked on the “Cancel” tab to (as it suggest) Debug but it still persists on appearing.

OGAExec.exe is Office Genuine Advantage Notifications, a Microsoft program intended to prevent people from running illegal copies of Microsoft Office.
Lots of people are complaining about this error, which appears to have been introduced with a recent update from Microsoft.
I found the following suggestion – I can’t guarantee that it works (I don’t have the problem myself):
– Select Start | Control Panel.
– If you’re using Category view, click “Performance and Maintenance”, then click “Scheduled Tasks”.
– If you’re using Classic view, double-click “Scheduled Tasks”.
– Look for OGALogon.job – if it is present, right-click it and select Delete.
– Click OK.
– Restart your computer.

Note: the problem may return with a future update.

Thanks Hans. I have been running the current Microsoft Office for many months now without any prompt suggesting it is not genuine so when the message started to appear I suspected there must be -as we say in the UK- a rabbit off. I will follow you instructions & see if that prevents it from happening, if it does not I will just keep on hitting the “Delete” tab & disregard it as I know the software is genuine.
