Here’s a wrap up of the latest Apple News this week. For my weekly Apple column, I am drafting a review of my update experience with iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14 for the AskWoody newsletter.

Nathan, maybe you could add a few words on the latest Mojave 2020-005 and Safari 10.4 debacle and maybe on its apparent solution by Apple? Just a suggestion.

I didn’t get it in this article, but my recommendation would be it should be safe to install by early next week if you don’t hear of any other major issues. I could ask Tracey if I have time to slip in a paragraph on it.

We are not having any excess battery drain on the iPhone 2020 SE or 8Plus. In fact battery usage has improved after updating from iOS 13.7 to 14.0,1. on both iPhone devices. My friend is on his SE for Safari/phone calls/texting quite often throughout the day and night.

I’ve had slight battery drain, but not too bad. Even then it’s gradually improving, and I expect it to improve with future updates.

My last charge was Thursday at noon and I’m at 35 percent tonight, Sunday. Granted I’m not an avid user of many apps on the iPhone, prefer the iPad for that. But I have been texting quite a bit from the phone yesterday and today. Safari got a little workout too past few days, on it right now for the forum. It took some time for the update to fall into place and once it did I saw a big improvement in battery usage. I don’t have an Apple watch so no pairing going on there, which seems to be causing some people to have battery drain as well as GPS issues.
