• App or program for Closed Captioning

I have a serious hearing problem. I use closed captioning on my TV.

Is there a closed captioning app or program available for my PC’s & Android cell phone?

Many news & articles come in via videos. Sometimes but not often, closed captioning is available from the source of those news & articles.
    — Most of the time it takes me “forever” by replaying the videos in order to get what’s being said.

      Hi,

Have you looked into the Ease of Access section of Win 10 Settings?  There appears to be support for closed captions available therein under Audio.

As for Android, if you have a recent Android 10 or 11 device such as Google Pixel or Samsung, their accessibility options include Live Captions and Live Transcribe.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I hadn’t looked into those, but I will look into them.

For capturing videos in Windows 10, you can try “XBox game bar”, or how its called. No installation in Windows 10, just press WIN+G.
Look at this example of google chrome video I made and uploaded to youtube (its non-public, only the ones with link can see it).
I do lot of videos like this for education and troubleshooting. there are downsides, but forget about them right now and you can try it.

The downside is, if some window/dialog “pops up” from the application, its not recorded. It records just the “main frame” of the app. But maybe this is not important for you.
        Glad to help you.
