Stupidly, I was too quick in downloading a piece of software and I managed to download a piece of so-called software named ‘BoBrowser’ – although it’s not malicious apparently, it’s proving impossible to get rid of.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
1) Using Revo Uninstaller, I got rid of it from Program Files and, I hope (!), the Registry.
2) I’ve manually removed it as an add-on in Firefox and Chrome + disabled it in Internet Explorer.
3) Using Task Manager I’ve removed it from the start-up applications and, (again hopefully!) from processes
Despite doing all this, it’s still firmly lodged in Users/me/AppData as an .exe file and I can’t delete it! It has me running round in circles saying that I need ‘permission’ and yet I’ve done that and it still won’t let me get rid of it.
Has anyone any idea how to administer the ‘coup de grace’ to this thing and finally delete it?
