I think this refers to one of the Insider Preview builds only and if this is true, the claim that WSUS is broken does not stand.

I believe this applies to WSUS on Server 2012 R2.

There are two reports so far confirming the sightings, at patchmanagement.org.

Wonder what it could be? Cal says “I’m betting it is all language updates as they are quite prolific when they have been released.”

DonPick on patchmanagement.org has the correct explanation and I added few notes.
My first answer about the Language Packs is not what Gunther Born has reported, but the updates are in the Feature on Demand category.
WSUS works correctly as it was explained by Susan Bradley on the same mailing list thread.

Not seeing this on any of our clients.  But I also have all of them set to only sync US-EN patches.  (And we sync only on Saturday evenings . . . so I might be fooling myself and could see issues Sunday morning.)

And yes, the list on that blog seems to indicate localized patches are flooding WSUS servers that are not constrained properly.

 

*currently our company is managing 9 WSUS servers, mixed versions from 3.2 to 4.0 . . .

You probably like almost everyone else do not synchronise Feature on Demand on WSUS, which is the typical setup.

Confirmed, we don’t use FoD at all.
