• Annoying ballons (XP)

    Is there a way to kill, or at least shorten the amount of time, that the annoying ballon stating I have connected to (whatever) everytime I use DUN appears?

      I’m personally for killing all the balloon tips, which you can do with TweakUI for Windows XP. The entry to disable them globally is on the Taskbar entry in the main dialog.

      Hi, Ed ~

      To disable those annoying notification area balloons:

      • Start‘ > ‘Run…‘ > type regedit > ‘OK
      • Navigate to:[/list]HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced
        • Right-click a blank space in the right pane, select DWORD value > name it EnableBalloonTips
        • Double-click this new entry > give it a value of
        • If EnableBalloonTips is already there and set to 1, set it to
        • Exit Registry Editor
        • Reboot[/list]These steps disable all notification area balloons – there is no way to disable balloon tips for specific programs only. smile
