Is there a bug in the Custom animation panel of the PowerPoint 2003 Custom Animation feature? When I try to animate a chart and choose Effect Options in the Task Pane I get none of the choices that I had previously in Office XP. I only get the Group Chart option. Am I missing something or is there a patch that I am not aware of here.

I’m not aware of any bugs that would cause the behavior you describe.

The ability to animate by series or category is dependent on 2 things: the type of chart and the animation itself.

Try changing your animation to something simple like a wipe and see if all the options aren’t now available to you.
