    Hi,
I can’t believe this has not been asked before but I can’t find it here.

I am trying to configure Wake on Lan on a machine running Windows 10 Home 1803 and recently updated to 1809. Wake on Lan is turned on in the Bios but when I go to the power settings in the properties of my network adapter I can’t tick the option ‘Allow this device to wake the computer’ because it is greyed out.

I have tried running ‘powercfg -deviceenablewake “Realtek PCIe GbE Family controller” ‘ from an administrator command prompt but I get a message telling me that I don’t have the permissions to run the command. I have enabled the built-in administrator account and run the command again but I get the same error message.

    I have Fast boot disabled.

I upgraded from 1803 to 1809 to try and fix this but it has made no difference.

I am using the latest Realtek driver, 10.32.1206.2018

I see that this was an issue for some people when they upgraded from Win 8 to win 10, if they had been using a vpn when using win 8. This was supposed to have been fixed by subsequent driver updates. (My machine did come with 8.2 on it but was upgraded to Win 10 at first power on)

Has anyone else come across this?
