Instead, I figure it’ll be a lump of cumulative coal. Details on this month’s patches and their early foibles coming in Computerworld.

Could be worse… A cumulative lump of coal. Something the size of asteroid Ceres by now. 😉

Speaking of poor updating procedures….. I have a Macbook Pro here running 10.14.1, and I was offered an update to 10.14.2.  Okay, fine…. but what is really weird is that in the description of the update, you can’t click on the link to get information about what’s actually in the update.

What am I supposed to do, type the URL out manually?

…… which I did, and neither URL points to a location that actually describes the content of the update!

Oh yeah, and the update is almost THREE GIGABYTES.

So yeah…. a whole other type of hot garbage going on on the other side.

The patching question becomes: Is there a patch error or is there a computer system error?

If patching were consistently free of errors, it would be easier to detect and correct computer system errors.

Perhaps Microsoft would wish that too. I just received the cumulative Win 10 Home update forced on my laptop. One app was unable to load and work properly after that update… Microsoft Store! Best laugh I have had all day.
