AskWoody LoungerNovember 8, 2005 at 5:57 pm #9838396) The station clock lost 3 minutes compared to Alf’s watch. When Alf got off the train in the morning, there was an +8 minute (station less alf) difference between the station clock and his watch. He changed this to a +5 minute difference at the beginning of the day. The trip to work took 65 minutes. Thus the trip home took 52 minutes so it left 8 minutes late (according to the station clock) but on time according to Alf’s watch. Thus there was a +8 minute difference at the end of the day. Naturally, all of this assumes that I didn’t stuff something up and, also, that some other clever dick hasn’t answered it already.
