    OK, The data source is an Excel file. The greeting line is column A which has “Full Name” as the title at the top of the column. There are not any columns that have the first names separated from last names. So, the name in column A (Full Name) is what I want to show as the greeting. When I’m in step 4 of the mail merge wizard, I click ‘greeting line’ and it inserts the

      I’d avoid the Greetimg Line option and create your own using the Full Name field.
